THE DESIGN: Best Coast's Crazy For You

Here's the super rad cover for Best Coast's Crazy for You. I think it perfectly captures the lo-fi, pop cuteness of Best Coast.  Pitchfork did a nice interview with the designer, David Rager here.

THE COLLAB: Outlier Tailored Performance x Wurst Editions

Wurst Editions, a small NYC clothing company, teamed up with Outlier Tailored Performance to create the perfect pair of summer shorts called The Wurst Outlier Shorts.  It's similar to Outlier's summer shorts except in a sweet blue color and with a folded cuff.  The best part of the shorts is that they come with both a sweet and a spicy sopressata from Emily's Pork Store as part of their Sausage pack.

THE SHOE: Vans Syndicate Zero Lo by Luke Meier

Luke Meier (Supreme) designed a pair of luxury Vans, complete with leather lining and dust bag.  With a nice mix of materials, this shoe is definitely a skate shoe standout.  (via Highsnobiety and Jake Davis)

THE ICON: James Chance

On Sunday, June 27th, from 8-11pm No Wave icon, James Chance will be playing "original piano compositions...for the first time ever solo on a grand piano" at Manhattan Inn in Greenpoint.

THE PAINT: John Woo's Fashionable Star Wars Paintings

Hong Kong artist John Woo created a series of paintings featuring Star Wars characters wearing some of our favorite brands such as Band of Outsiders, Supreme, Thom Browne, and Comme des Garcons.  Check out more of his work here.

THE EVENT: Billy Reid x Big Apple BBQ

This Saturday, Alabama's Jim 'n Nick's BBQ will be roasting a whole pig outside of the Billy Reid shop in honor of the Big Apple BBQ.  They will be serving pork tacos, drinks and more from 7-9. It's the perfect mix of fashion and food.

Go buy Ariel Pink's Haunted Graffiti's album "Before Today".  It's a little less lo-fi and art damaged as his earlier works, but just as good.  Here's a video for the song "Bright Lit Blue Sky", a cover of The Rockin' Ramrods 1966 song.  It's just a taste of Ariel Pink and crew's weird 70's AM radio art-pop songs!

THE GRAPHICS: Cholo Writing

Dokument Press put out a great book called "Cholo Writing: Latino Gang Graffiti in Los Angeles in 2009.  The book documents the history of LA Gang writing from the '60s to present day.  I just took a look through it at my local bookstore, By and By.  Definitely worth picking up.

THE JAMS: Best Coast Mixtape

THE CHAIN: Giles and Brother Embedded Dagger Necklace

Some dudes might not be into jewelry besides a nice watch and a wedding band (for the old folks).  However, in the last couple years, I've been known to rock a gold chain now and then.  I love the simplicity of the Giles and Brother Dagger necklace.  This could get some serious play this summer.

THE DESIGNER: Mark McNairy Takes Over WWM

Mark McNairy, creative director of J. Press and shoe designer of Mark McNairy New Amsterdam, will be taking over for Daiki Suzuki at Woolrich Woolen Mills.  This is amazing news for menswear as a Mark designs classic men's pieces but adds interesting, creative twists to them.  If you're not familiar with his work, check below for more photos of his shoe line.

Everyone knows how much I love a good tank top.  These t-shirts and tank tops from LA-based Unknown Soldier are looking perfect for summer.  I really like the stark one color graphics, referencing no-wave, reggae, and african bands. THE WORD: Frank Sinatra to George Michael!

Yeah, it's really a letter Frank Sinatra wrote to the LA Times's Calendar magazine about a young and troubled George Michael! I guess George was feeling the effects of being a superstar after his debut album. Frank decides to give him some words of wisdom!

I have been looking for a new "patterned"party shirt for summer.  This Supreme "Fishbone" shirt fits the bill perfectly.  I like the fresh take on the Aloha shirt, especially in sea foam green.

THE SHADES: Supreme Sunglasses

On May 20, Supreme releases two sunglass styles The Loc and The Dekker.  Both frames are hand-crafted in Japan and come in a couple colorways. I'm glad to see Supreme re-issued the Locs from last Spring.  They sold out pretty fast, and now you have another chance to cop 'em. 

THE PANTS: Outlier Tailored Performance 60/30 Khakis

I'm fairly new to the whole hiking/outdoorsy thing.  I play soccer and go on long bike rides, but I don't really have any gear for true trekking.  I once did the 5 borough bike ride in jeans for chrissakes!  I know that Outlier Tailored Performance is traditionally made for bike riding, but I feel that the 60/30 Khakis would be perfect for a hike up Bear Mountain as well as a long ride to the Palisades. The pants come in khaki and olive.
