Ducktails is the solo project of Real Estate guitarist Matthew Mondanile. His previous work leaned more towards the lo-fi bedroom pop filled with instrumentals and extended jams. With his new album, "Ducktails III: Arcade Dynamics, he keeps the same breezy, laid back vibe but with more emphasis on real songs structure. Here's a bonus track/alternate take of "Killing The Vibe" featuring Panda Bear. Listen here(via Gorilla vs Bear).
Here is a look at 4 new frames for Warby Parker's second collection. I'm loving the new chunkier frames. I originally ordered the Beckett in striped evergreen, but am returning them for the Preston (the first pair). Although I really liked the color and shape of the Beckett, they were a bit heavy for my thick ass lenses. I would highly suggest taking a look at the new collection and ordering yourself a pair. They are super cheap ($95 with lenses, or $125 for the legally blind like me), really fast (it takes them 2-3 days to make the glasses and ship them FREE!), and they donate a pair of glasses for every pair bought!

Bradford Cox is a pretty prolific dude. Back in November, he released 4 "albums" called Bedroom Databank. Pitchfork reviewed the albums and said "some of it's great, some of it isn't, and you have to show a good amount of patience to sift through it all in order to find the gems." Well, DUH. Of course, not everything is going to be amazing, but seriously the dude just gave us 4 albums of free music...give thanks. Along with being pretty psyched on 4 albums of free Atlas Sound, I really love the cover design. It looks like he went through vintage design/color books and placed his picture on top of it. Genius. Love this dude. Download albums here.

I was supposed to post this Rude Bwoy ska mix back in July before I started slacking. Here's a mix the Deadly Dragon Soundsystem did for UK menswear shop Oi Polloi. If you're not familiar with either, definitely check them out. Both kill it at what they do. I only wish Oi Polloi would migrate to the NYC.
I've been a big fan of winos/Zig Zags since I spotted them a couple years ago in LA. Since then, many companies such as DVS, Huf, and Supreme have come out with their version of this eponymous shoe. Mark McNairy for Keds puts their spin on the wino for Fall 2011 and they look great. He adds his trademark red brick sole to the traditional winos silhouette. I only wish Keds would keep the prices more Keds-like.
